Carson thought for a moment Marco was angry at the fact that Carson already knew what he had been brought over for. Then he uncrossed his arms, and started talking about the rules. The last one he nearly fell over with; technically, he had already broken the rule. "Uh, sir? I'm sorry, but I think I already broke the last one. We're on the front page." He had seen the article at lunch that day. "But other than that, she won't be involved with the tabloids, sir."

Eva giggled. "Terrified? Laura, when I told him that my dad knew about my feelings, he nearly fell over! This is Uncle Jake's son we're talking about. Basketball star. One of no fear." She laughed again. "Well, until now."

"I heard about the tabloid," Marco gave a nod, "But I can let it slide. Just try not to get caught by the paparazzi again."
"Now...concequences." Marco's grin grew more wicked than ever, "You know me well enough to know what your facing. You're Jake's son, so you'll see eachother when he and I get together, and at school, but no time other than that should you break the rules. At no time will you two be allowed to be alone together. And, of course, I have a variety of animals in my arrsonal that could do some serious damage if you should ever....EVER try to take advantage of my daughter."
"Well can you blame him!" Laura laughed, covering her mouoth to stifle the sound, "Daddy could turn into a gorilla and beat him to a pulp just fr looking at you wrong!"
She had a feeling her father would be a little more lenient since he knew Carson so well. But then, she herself had never had a boyfriend, so she idn't know how her father worked in such situations.

Carson nodded. "Yes, sir. It won't happen again." Well, then Marco mentioned taking advantage of Eva and he DID fall out of the couch, somehow. He still didn't know how he managed that. "I would never take advantage of her!" A bit embarrassed at the fall and outburst, he got back in his seat. "Okay, understood, sir."

"You know, I actually could blame him if I wanted to, but I don't." She laughed. "True. But Uncle Jake can also morph. I think that would be Carson's only hope, that and his mother."
Eva heard a thump come from downstairs. "What the-?!" She looked at Laura before going to the door. "What happened down there?"

"Good." Marco stood and offered a hand to help Carson up. He wasn't a complete jerk, after all. He was merely looking out for his daughter. He heard Eva call down the stairs and quickly replied to her question, "Nothing, Princess. Carson and I were just finishing our little talk."
Laura laughed at her sister's reply, they she too heard the thump and climbed off her bed, making her way into the hall. Curious...what could have made the thump in the normal course of a conversation, "Daddy can't have reason to hit him yet..."

Carson took the offered help and said, "Thank you, sir." He heard Eva yell down the stairs and let Marco answer it while he muttered, "Yeah, it's just me looking like an idiot right now."

Eva quirked an eyebrow. "I would hope not. Carson knows better," she told Laura. "All right." She called down. Then she sat back down and said, "They might still be going over some stuff. How do you feel about me and Carson?"

Marco let out a laugh at Carson's muttered response, "Well, at least you have a good sense of humour. That's a plus in my book."
He put a hand pn Carson's shoulder, and that wicked grin he had been sporting softened into a warm smile, "And I've known you since you were in daipers. I'm pretty sure I can trust you to follow my rules. Don't let me catch you breaking them, now."
"How do I feel?" Laura had to stop and think about that. She was happy for her sister, but she knew that this would change things. It couldn't be her and Eva and Carson anymore...because it was just Eva and Carson. Laura would only be in the way, "I'm happy and all...but...I guess I feel like a bit of a third wheel."

Carson relaxed a little when Marco softened the grin to a smile that Carson knew was a good one, not a you're-dating-my-daughter-and-I'm-protecting-her sort of way. He smiled. "Yeah. I'll make sure I follow the rules."

Eva hugged her sister. "You will never be a third wheel. I want you to still hang out with us. Not much is going to change. I'm sure Dad will have some rules about that. Besides, you can help me if there's an argument." She winked when she said that. "Seriously though, I still want you with us. You're fun to be around. You're not like some people claim all sisters are supposed to be."

"Okay then." Marco said to the now relaxed boy, "We have an understanding."
He knew Eva probably wouldn't like the rules he had laid down, but they were for her own good.
Laura smiled and returned her sister's hug, "Thanks, Eva. I'm glad I have you for an older sister."

Carson nodded. Do we ever.... He did not want to see the consequences actually happen, so he intended to follow the rules one hundred percent.

Eva smiled, "And I'm glad I have you as a younger one. Do you feel like dancing? Because I sure do." She stood up and offered a hand to her sister.

Marco continued to smile, wondering what Jake's reaction to all this would be. He looked at Carson, "Does your father know about this yet?"
Laura laughed and smiled at her sister, "I don't have your sense of rythm, but I'll give it a shot!"
She tok her sisters hand and pulled herself to her feet befre moving to the the stereo in her bedroom and turning on some music.
