Eva opened the door and ran in to find her father. "Dad, we're home!" She looked around. "Dad? While you talk to Carson, I think I'm going to go upstairs, and, uh, help Laura with any homework she might need." She wanted to talk to her sister to see how she felt with the whole situation.

Carson gulped as he sent Eva a look that said, "You're leaving me here? Alone?!" Then smiled nervously as he waited for what was coming to him.

Marco sat in the living room, flipping through the newspaper for any mention of the Yeerks. He found nothing. But when his daughter came into the room he smiled brightly, "Welcome home, Princess."
He stood and moved to give her a hug, as much to show Carson that he was being caring and protective as to show affection to his child, "That sounds like a good idea. I was going to suggest you leave the two of us alone anyways."
He gave oone of his signature grins, though this one had a wicked hint of mischief to it. This would be a talk Carson would never forget.
Meanwhile, in her room, Laura sat back, her iPod in her hand as she listened to her favourite band. Her eyes were closed and she hummed along to the chorus. Her math boook lay untouched before her.

Eva sent a look back at Carson that said, "Duh," and returned the hug from her father. She ran upstairs and found her sister listening to some music and pounced on her while saying, "Whatcha doing?" She was laughing.

Carson gulped once more as he was left with Marco. "You wanted to speak with me? Uh, sir?" He said nervously.

Marco watched as Eva ran out of the room. He then turned his attention to Carson, who was addressinghim as 'Sir'. He rather liked that. As well as the fact that Carson really did seem afraid...it meant the boy was less likely to actually try anything with his daughter. Then again, Carson knew that Marco would be after him in morph if he did.
"Yeah, I did want to talk to you." Marco took a seat on the big easy chair, and gestured for Carson to sit n the nearby couch, "So...you and Eva, huh? Who'd have thought it would be my best friend's own son..."
Laura let out a small shriek as she was lept upon, having not noticed her sister enter the room. She recovered quickly, despite a racing heart, and threw a pillow at Eva with feined anger spread over her features, "Geeze, what're you trying to do! Give me a heart attack!"
Then she noticed the giddy mood Eva was in. Unusually happy even for her, "What's up?"

Carson sat down on the couch and heard what Marco said. "Yeah. Who knew? I certainly didn't expect it." He shifted, unsure of what to say.

Eva laughed harder as the pillow was thrown. "Okay, okay, I give!" Then Laura asked what was up. "Well, guess who's downstairs talking to Daddy right now?"

"You know how special Eva is to me, she and her sister both." Marco began, wanting to drill home that point early on, "And I know your Jake's son and all, but I also know how boys your age think."
He let his dark eyes lock onto Carsons, giving him his most intimidating stare. He wanted to make damn sure the boy wasn't gonna run at the first sign of trouble.
Laura stopped and stared at her sister, canting her head to one side, "Who?"
Something in Eva's tone made her suspect it was a boy, but which boy it could be she wasn't sure. She'd noticed Eva acting a little different around Carson, but didn't want to get in trouble for guessing that.

Carson nodded. Oh, he knew all right. He certainly felt sorry for the last guy....okay, no he didn't. He had wanted to hit that guy, but he knew Marco would be taking care of it. And he surely did. He noticed he was still nodding so he stopped himself and felt like shrinking away when Marco locked his eyes on Carson's, but maintained. If he ran now, he would never have a chance. He wanted to protest the last comment, but thought better of it. "So.." he cleared his throat. "I'm guessing you want to discuss ground rules, sir?"

Eva felt like dancing but didn't, instead she smiled a big smile and said, "Carson! And let me tell you, he's shaking right now!"

Having heard, and noticed, how intimidated Carson was by him, Marco was impressed that the youth shrink away at the hard look he was given. That scred points for this new prospect in the Animorph's book, "Good guess."
Marco's eyes remained hard and calculating as a grin spread over his lips, "Any other guesses you'd like to make about the conversation befre we continue?"
Laura let out a squeak, grinning at the fact she had been right, "Oh, I knew it! I knew something was going on with you two! What happened? Tell me everything!"
She set her iPod aside and folded her legs beneath her, getting into full gossip mode.

"Uhm, I'm thinking you also want to go over..." Carson gulped, "Consequences if I were to break one of these rules...?" Carson shifted a little in his seat, feeling like he's been here for over an hour. Yet, he has only been there a few minutes. Intimidation did not do well for him.

Eva smiled at Laura's outburst a little sneaky. "Oh, did you now?" She shook her head laughing. "You're lucky Carson and Dad are talking otherwise I'd tickle you to death."
Then she watched as Laura got in her gossip mode. "Well, I went to Dad yesterday...was it yesterday?....yeah, yesterday and I talked to him about the fact that when Carson and I went dancing, I realized what my feelings were." She thought then what happened. "So, Dad told me I should ask him. When I went to today, I...er....kinda chickened out." A rarity for me. "But then Carson asked me! He asked me, Laura! I was in a state of shock! So, I called Dad, and he told us to come on over. So we did."

Marco gave a nod, his wicked grin still upon his features. He folded his arms over his chest as he regarded Carson, "Another good guess."
Uncross his arms he leaned forward, holding up one finger, "First rule...no touching. You know what I mean by that of course."
He held up an additional finger for each rule he ticked off, "Second...No kissing. Third...NO having her out past ten o'clock. Fourth...you're no longer allowed in her room. And fifth, try to stay out of the tabloids, I don't want her exposed to that stuff."
Laura let out a soft giggle, she knew her sister knew all her ticklish spots, and wasn't afraid to use them against her, "Okay okay, so just tell me!"
She leaned forward, listening with rapt attention. Her eyes shining with joy for her sister, "Oh, I'd love to see Carson's face about now! He must be terrified!"
