Amy walked in and said, "No, I won't do that trick again." She looked around and then sat down. She felt like she was going to pass out; she was still hungry, but she didn't want to ask for more food. She remembered the last time she didn't eat when she was pregnant and passed out; that scared Marco to death if she remembered correctly, but she couldn't recall at that particular moment. Her mind kept going to the fact that she may never see her family again.

"Are you okay, dear?" Ruth asked, her nice side showing itself again. She picked up another sandwich and offered it to Amy. "I made plenty. You still hungry?" Ruth looked at Amy. Ruth didn't know why she kidnapped Amy anymore, she thought it was for revenge on Marco, but found that she kind of liked not being alone...

Amy shook her head. "No, I'm fine. Just a bit tired." To prove her point, she stretched. "And I miss Marco." She couldn't hide that fact; she didn't want to. She wanted it known that Marco wasn't the only one suffering.

"Oh, okay then..." She smiled. Then Amy said something about missing Marco. Her ugly, evil side showed itself again. "Well then," She snapped. "I miss Ricky. Can you help me there???" She picked up the gun again, and went back to reading yet another book she wrote.

Amy stared. "I was just making a comment. It's a free country..." She was going to say more, but had to run to the bathroom. She came back and said, "I can't help you, no. I'm sorry for your loss, but that's how life goes. You'll find someone, I know it." That's a lie, Amy thought to herself.

Ruth glanced up, and realized she was crying. "You're just saying that..." She wiped her tears and went back to her book. "Let's please not talk about this anymore."

Amy looked down. "Ricky would want you to move on, Ruth." Then she sat down and looked at her hands.

"I said, let's please not talk about this anymore." She put the book down. "I know he would, but he was the only man who even seemed to look at me...everyone else seems a little....you know....creeped out. No one else would want me...that's why I can't move on..."

Amy shook her head. "I'm just trying to help here." She looked out the window. "What was he like?"

Ruth sighed dreamily when Amy asked what Ricky was like. She closed her eyes and began her story, speaking peacefully. "Ricky was amazing. He was tall, muscular, and athletic. He was a real clown, loved a good joke. After meeting him, I was truly happy. I went from depressed and lonely, to bubbly and happy again. He was faithful, and would never leave my side. He was a police officer, but he always called when he was gonna be home late.... I miss him so much..."

Amy listened to what Ruth had to say. When she was done talking, Amy went over and gave her a hug. "I'm sorry"

Ruth hugged Amy back. "Thank you...sit down, and I'll tell you what happened to him. This, I never told anyone. It was on the news, but they only told the bad parts..." Ruth wiped a tear from her eye and told the rest of her story. "Ricky and I were talking about having kids. We'd been married about 5 years. Ricky had a day off and it was finally...time...three months ago today actually. Ricky had to cash his paycheck, and he was in line at the bank. An armed robber barged into the bank. Ricky had his gun on him, and managed to take out the robber, but the guy had a friend....Ricky never saw him...." The tears started flowing big time. "Can we please talk about something else?"

Amy's eyes softened. "I'm so sorry." She hugged Ruth again. "Um, what are your books about? I haven't seen them in the stores, I don't think. Unless you use a different name." She felt sympathetic.

"It's fine." Ruth said. "My books are mostly mystery and horror stories. I write under the name Ruthie Tanner...In honor of Ricky." Her voice cracked as she then picked up a notebook and started scribbling viciously into it.

Amy widened her eyes. "You're Ruthie Tanner?! Oh my goodness. I read the first book you wrote, and it was one of the few that I like reading."
