(Set before Bored and before Living with the Enemy)
Carson sighed as he walked next to Eva. Eva had gotten him in trouble again by dragging him to the store to see what all was so interesting there during the day. And due to his streak of luck lately, his father was out shopping as well. He'd certainly gotten an earful from both his parents about it and then been grounded.
Eva, on the other hand, had somehow, miraculously gotten out of being grounded, and he wasn't sure if it was because she might have told Marco that it was his idea, or she figured out a way to convince him that the school was playing some weird prank on him; he gave up on trying to figure it out, to be honest.
Eva laughed as she skipped ahead. Shortly they would be at the split Y, where Eva would go to the right, Carson to the left. Today he felt that it couldn't come soon enough. Though right now they were passing the abandoned construction site. He shoved his hands in his pockets as Eva started talking to him about something regarding school.
"Ooh, Carson, look at that! A new building. We should find out what it's for..." with that, Eva went tearing for the building. Carson blinked. "No...No. Carson, do not go chasing after her. She'll be fine, rea-" he decided the risks weren't worth it and chased after Eva. "Eva? Eva, come on! You're going to make me late, and then I'll have to explain to Dad what your brilliant idea was!" He heard Eva laugh as she said, "Don't be such a worrywart. He won't ask what happened if you're only five minutes late, ya goof." Carson sighed as he headed upstairs to the top floor. He didn't have a good feeling about this...

Jay was asleep in an old building in the abandoned construction site. He only had the bare necessities, just enough to live by. It was the best he could do. Didn't matter, things would look up soon enough.
He awoke when he heard voices. One sounded very familiar, and he knew he was sure who it was when he heard the name "Carson." He sat up wearily crawled to his feet. Silently, he stepped out to see what was going on.
Hmm...Now would be a GREAT time for revenge...He grabbed an old gas can off of the ground to find it still had some in it. He smiled evilly as he pulled a matchbook out of his pocket, sneakily approaching the building the kids were in.

Carson and Eva finally reached the top of the building and they both sat down to get a rest before heading on down. It was a TALL building of which they sat in, so of course it would work on their stamina. In truth, Carson was fine; he was in basketball, after all. Eva was the one who had told him that she needed a break; little did he know, she just didn't want to go home just yet.
A few minutes passed and Eva said, "Okay, I guess we can go now. You ready?" She turned to him. Carson smiled. "I've been ready ten minutes ago." She smirked, "It hasn't been ten minutes."
"Says you," Carson muttered. He let her go first as they started to walk downstairs, unaware of what was about to happen.

Jay's sick grin was plastered on as he walked around the building, sprinkling gas onto it. Those kids had NO IDEA. He held back a laugh as he finished, tossing the can aside.
Lighting a handful of matches, he tossed them at the building, watching as it burst into flames. Quietly, he slinked back to his building, watching his work unfold.

Carson thought he smelled smoke only a few seconds later. "Uh, Eva?" He looked down. The bottom floor was bursting into flames! The door was going to be blocked soon, and the fire was already coming up to them! "RUN!" Eva turned to him with a scared look in her eyes, yet he could tell she was enjoying the thrill of it; he certainly wasn't.
"Go, Eva, GO!" Eva turned and started down the stairs, Carson following. Maybe they could get to the door in time. Though he heard a rumble or something, because when he looked up, Debris was falling towards them. "Crap..." he muttered. He looked up one last time... "AHH!!" A big chunk of the flaming ceiling fell between him and Eva, causing him to fall backwards, hitting his back against the wall. He coughed as he went to stand up again. He froze when he heard another sound; it cost him...
Carson screamed as it fell on his leg and he heard a snap coming from it. He was feeling the pain and he took a couple of deep breaths...

Jay laughed to himself, seeing what was going on. No WAY Carson was making it out of this alive...
He decided to add a little insult to injury. Slowly, he shrank, becoming the weasel. Fully morphed, he ran inside, fighting the instinct to run. Once inside, he approached Carson, biting him on the hand. <What's the matter, Carson?> he sneered. <Not so tough now, are ya?> With that, he ran outside, demorphed, and watched from the shadows...

Carson felt an animal bite him on the hand. "Ow!"He glared at the weasel, and widened his eyes as he realized who it was. Jay... "You're hiding in that morph, Jay! Quit being a weasel!" He coughed a few times as he watched Jay leave.
Eva kept running until she made it outside. "Whew, that was fun, Cars-Carson?" Her grin turned into a frown when she realized he wasn't behind her. She widened her eyes and wanted to go back in for him, but the fire department had just gotten there. She had to have faith that they would get him out. She sat down, hard. What would happen if Carson didn't make it? "Carson! CARSON!" She bolted for the door, but the firefighters held her back.
Carson's mind was scrambling for something to do about his current situation as well as fighting unconsciousness that wanted to take over. He had to do something! No one could see him through all this debris, and he was coughing up a storm. Wait; didn't his parents give him texting? Either that, or they could pay for every text...deciding that this would exempt any rules, he got out his phone, flinching at the pain; his leg rested in an awkward position, and his hand was hurt. He flipped open his phone and went to the last person he called; his dad. He sent a message, that said, "Fire. Help. Pain." before passing out.His mind wouldn't think of any other words...

Jay stayed still, watching, his back pressed against the side of a nearby building. He smiled, for there was one more punk kid that was now out of his way.
He heard the sirens coming, and took that as the cue to leave. He turned, and quietly slipped off, unnoticed...
