Cass yelped with intense pain. Her eyes swirled and she had to sit there for a second. He hadn't pinned her arms yet, and she had to think fast, otherwise he would get the upperhand. She, on a whim, wrapped her arms around her neck, bringing herself close and said, smirking, "But isn't that the way you like it, baby?"
Sneakily, her hand made her way through his hair and she pulled back as hard as she could and kneed him in the gut and started moving away from him again. "Go to hell and leave me alone!" She shouted at him.

Jay winced in pain, and lay on the ground. "When...did she get so...feisty?" he asked himself. "Too bad I have to kill her..."
He slowly rolled to his feet and decided just to wait. He didn't have to do anything, just wait. Things would work themselves out, soon. All he had to do was wait for it.

Cass kept on running and stopped, when she noticed Jay wasn't following her. "What? He's giving up?" She watched the direction she had left for a couple of seconds before feeling absolutely exhausted.
"Oh, no...not now!" she gasped out..."Tyler...I'm sorry..." Then she felt herself fall to the ground and the blackness surrounded her.

"That was faster than expected," Jay mused before going over to her. He picked up Cass' motionless body and walked towards the cave, still in pain.
He got to the cave, the same one he'd held her in 18 years ago, only this time he had chairs, rope, knives, and a supply of weed on hand. He sat her in a chair and tied her up. Now, to play the waiting game...

It took Cass a few minutes but her eyes fluttered open. "Ugh..." She looked up at Jay and remembered what had happened. "You Jerk! Let me go!" Cass fought against the rope as hard as she could.
Cass glared at him. "I hate you!" Tears streamed down her face as she looked at him. "What happened to you? I thought you had changed..."

Jay laughed. "Oh, I've changed, alright, but not for you..." he snarled. He sat, watching her struggling before pulling a cell phone out and dialing a number before pressing it to the side of her head so she could use it. "I just called YOUR son. Talk to him," Jay ordered. Ty sat on the couch, shaking and crying like a baby. He had gotten home from work to find a note on the coffee table.
Ty, I've got your Mom. If you want to see her again, follow my instructions. Don't look for me or call the police. I'll contact you...
He didn't know how long he'd been sitting there, staring at the note with tears rolling down his face. Then, the phone rang. He picked it up shakily. "He-he-...hello?"

Cass heard Ty's voice on the end of the phone. "Tyler? Ty....it's me...it's..your mom...God, you were right...are you all right? Just know I love..." It was cut off. Cass stared at the floor in shock.
That may have been the last time she could talk to Tyler ever...she sat there and let the tears flow freely..."Jay...don't do this...I loved you...don't you realize that? We could have been happy together...why did you have to do this...." she whispered...

"Mom? Are you okay? Where are you? What's going on?" Ty asked into the phone before she was cut off. "MOM?!? I LOVE YOU! WHERE ARE YOU?"
Jay laughed into the phone. "Awww....you miss your mommy?" he taunted.
"Put her back on, you jackass!" "What? You can't talk to your old man that way, Son," he said. "Now, don't say another word or she dies, got it? After this phone call, turn on the TV to channel 7, understand?" Then, he hung up.
Ty slammed the phone down in a rage, but turned on the TV as he was told, tears flowing freely. "Mom...." It didn't matter that he had been right about Jay. All that mattered to Ty right now was Cass....

Cass prayed that Ty wouldn't come. She kept thinking that in her head as the six o'clock news came on....
The anchorwoman stood poised in the news room. The news had been the same every day, but this was a little much. Going through Jason McRae's history was nonsense, and yet her boss had told her to do it. "Good Evening from Channel 7 Evening News, my name is Jessie Sparks, and tonight we will cover past history as we talk about the escaped fugitive, Jason 'Jay' McRae. Eighteen years ago, young Jay met a beautiful woman and claimed to have fallen in love with Ms. Cassandra Ryonas." Here they showed a picture of them eighteen years ago together.
Jessie continued on. "Then, after finding out that Ms. Ryonas was a friend of someone Jay disliked, and that she was pregnant with their future son, he kidnapped her in hopes of destroying the life she was carrying inside of her at this very cave that we are showing you now." There was the picture of the cave and a picture of a terrified 16 ish old Cassandra inside. We have not been informed as of yet how both her and her unborn child has survived. We have heard rumors that she was going to give the baby up for adoption, but whatever thought brought that up to her, she obviously changed her mind."
Jessie sighed. "We do not know the current whereabouts of Jay McRae, but we do know one thing. Cassandra Ryonas and her son are not safe out there while he is on the streets. We have checked the cave, but it seemed to be deserted. I'm Jessie Sparks and this is the 7 o'clock news."
Jessie went offstage and the boss kept the camera rolling on Jay's orders. "Do you think he'll get it?" one guy said.
The bossman turned to him, "Get that he needs to go to the cave? Of course, his mother's in there..."

Ty watched the news. The entire thing. Rage built up inside of him. At least now he knew where she was. Running outside, he morphed the black eagle, taking to the sky.
He landed outside the cave not much later and demorphed. Inside, he saw his Mom and Jay.
Jay sat and waited, smoking a joint. "Your brat should be here soo-" Jay didn't get to finish, for Ty had rushed in and tackled Jay out of his chair, making him drop his joint.
Jay thought fast, sweeping Ty's feet out from under him before hopping up. Ty leaped to his feet, and cracked Jay in his mouth, which had just started to heal.
Jay wiped his mouth. "You little punk..." "You sorry bastard...." Both men stood, watching the other...

Cass yelped in surprise when Ty came flying through the cave. "Ty!" She watched with her eyes wide at the exchange that was going on. She had wanted to laugh at the look on Jay's face when they fell, but then he fought back.
She stayed in silence and watched as Ty hit Jay where she had bitten him. "Ha!" She couldn't help but say out loud. Then they exchanged words, and Cass kept wishing that Ty wouldn't have come...though she knew that in a fair fight, Ty could win...in fact, in a fair fight, he would win the fight...

Ty took a fighting stance, never taking his eyes off of Jay. He waited patiently for his father to make a move.
Jay threw a punch at Ty, who ducked and landed an uppercut, staggering Jay. Jay backhanded Ty across the mouth.
"That was for making me drop my joint," Jay said.
"And this," Ty said, punching Jay in the nose and breaking it, "is for my Mom..."
Jay fell to his knees, holding his freely bleeding nose and mouth. Ty stepped forward, ready to end it when Jay threw dirt in Ty's face. Ty staggered back, blinded temporarily. He felt a sting to his gut then a sharp pain on his cheek.
When Ty came to, he was tied up, and his head was throbbing. Jay had thrown sand in Ty's face, kicked him in the stomach, then hit him in the face with a near by tree limb. The right side of his jaw was swollen and badly bruised.
"I'm sorry, Mom," Ty said. "I tried...I really did...."
"Iddin' that sweet?" Jay taunted, smacking Cass across the face as Ty struggled to get free.
"I finally got both of you. Now...my only problem is, who gets to see who die?"

Cass yelped when Jay backhanded Ty. Then Ty broke Jay's nose. "YES!" and it went downhill from there. "TYLER! No!!!!" Tears fell down her face.
Cass watched helplessly as Ty was tied up. Then she felt a sharp sting on her face and her head turned away from the force of the slap. She looked at her feet and then looked up at Jay with a look of determination and she looked at him fiercely, a look that Ty had inherited. "You're just smacking us around because you were someone's bitch in jail, aren't you? Did you enjoy it in there?"

Ty looked at Cass when she made the remark, and smiled. Though, he was also shocked. in his 18 years of life, Ty NEVER heard his mom cuss.
Cass had some inner strength, that was for sure. But what surprised him was the look she gave Jay. A look of sheer determination. HIS look. So that's where I get it from...
"Ty? Guess what, Son. You get to watch your mommy die...." Jay said evilly. "But first..." He bent down, kissing her neck. "What's the matter Ty? This make ya mad?" He morphed and demorphed to heal his wounds before smacking Cass across the face backhanded a few times.
"Huh? How ya like that, boy?"
Ty just glared, giving his own look of determination as he managed to barely wiggle free, but hid it so Jay wouldn't notice. Just a little more, and he'd be completely out....

Cass sat there, not knowing what to do. Soon she felt his lips kissing her neck and she froze. What was she supposed to do? He then smacked her with a backhand a few times, and she had to spit out blood on the last one.
Cass knew she was going to die. This jerk that she was going to marry was going to kill her. But he was going to have his fun first. And she wouldn't go down without a fight. Before saying anything, she sent Ty a look that said, "I love you," and a second later, "I'm sorry..." before turning back to Jay. Hopefully, Ty would know what she was thinking. Cass didn't have enough energy to fight back now...but she could still talk...taunting was how he was playing it. She could play that game too.
"He's seen worse, Jay..." Her lips turned upward in a devil-may-care grin, another look Ty had. "Some pretty hard hits you've got there. Did your boyfriend back in prison teach you that?" She knew that this would be it. This next hit would be her last...this would be her last breath, and her last time seeing Ty. She looked over at Ty, and mouthed, 'I love you...'
