Name: Dak Ganat
Age: 1 1/2 Years (Hork-Bajir grow fast).
Race: Hork-Bajir Seer
Gender: Male
Family: Dak’s grandparents are Tal Ganat and the famed Toby Hamee. His mother and father are Jor Ganat and Kama Notur. He has an older sister; her name is Malik Ganat (5).
Relation: Grandson of Toby Hamee
Background:
After settling in Yellowstone Park, Tal Ganat and Toby Hamee fell in love, and had a child: Jor Ganat. Jor was a normal Hork-Bajir, and lived in complete freedom. Nearly five years ago, he took a mate, and had a child, a female named Malik. She was a simple-minded Hork-Bajir, who led an unremarkable, but free life. Nearly a year and a half ago, they had a second child. That child had a gleam of intelligence in his eyes; he was a Hork-Bajir Seer. His grandmother noticed, and realised, and the Hork-Bajir were awed and stunned by this.
Whether it was a calling, or it was just coincidence, was unknown, but Dak Ganat was happy to grow up in the freedom of Yellowstone, and quickly developed. Toby was nearing mid-life, and thus, it was a blessing to have another Seer in the family, a leader for the Hork-Bajir people. Dak matured quickly within the next year, learning much, and benefiting from people who came from outside of the Yellowstone National Park to teach him, but as well, remembering his roots.
Eventually, though, Dak grew curious; he wanted to see the world outside of him. His people allowed him to leave, with the promise that he would return. And thus, he left; he does not know now that the Yeerks have returned to Earth. He is to get a rude awakening when that happens...and when he does find out, will want to fight.
Personality:
Dak is a warrior, unlike the peaceful tree-bark eaters he lives with. He knows there are enslaved Hork-Bajir out there and he wants to help them. He is also grateful to the people of this world for how much they’ve helped his people; he wants to be their friend. He hates being feared by anything but Yeerks. He does not trust Andalites very much, but will work with them if he has to. He loves peanuts, for some odd reason.
Appearance:
Dak seems typical, in appearance, for a Hork-Bajir. His leathery skin is a dark shade of green, and he stands around 6'9" tall. His darker-green mouth is resemblance of a bird's beak, and is hard, with tiny teeth inside of his mouth. Three blades, revealing that he is male, protrude from his head. He stands on talon-like three-toed, theropod feet. His legs are long, the knees bending backwards. A long tail juts out from his back, ending in a pointed blade, with a second beneath it. His arms are long, and powerful, ending in three-clawed hands with opposing thumbs. Blades protrude from here, one each from his wrist and elbow, and two from the arm in between.
RP Sample:
(I'll use one from another character, since mine is blank-slate right now, sorta, until I get a grasp of the plot).
Quote:
Though Hork-Bajir were in short supply, the Yeerks continued to breed and raise them, so that they could have more shock troops. Indar's duty was to make sure that the Hork-Bajir were held still while the Yeerk was placed in their head. This was a young Hork-Bajir. He looked afraid, as he was brought up to them. When he saw the pool, despite his typical Hork-Bajir demeanor, Indar could see that he feared what was in those waters. The Hork-Bajir-Controller had no chance of helping him, however, and he had a duty to the Yeerk Empire. He grabbed one of arm of the Hork-Bajir, and another Controller grabbed the other arm.
The Hork-Bajir's head was dunked into the water. Indar was the one who had to watch for the slimy slug that was his kin to wriggle into his ear canal. When finally, it happened, Indar and the other Yeerk lifted the newly joined Controller. The Hork-Bajir-Controller monotonously turned his head to Indar, and nodded; this meant the blending had been successful.
A wave of sadness came from Kali; his host did not like seeing another of his people being enslaved. Indar consoled his host, a mental pat on the metaphorical head to comfort the Hork-Bajir. <Some day,> he said in his head. <Some day, we will find another way, Kali.>
Little did he know that he'd soon lose Kali, as well as his mate Tarrit...
