Ty was once again at work. This day, he had to work as bag boy. He hated bagging groceries. The only thing he hated worse was cleaning the toilets in the bathroom. He grumbled as he bagged the groceries, not really caring that it wasn't really organized. He was speedily putting the groceries in the bags, ready for his lunch break. "Crap..." Ty moaned as he dropped the jar of pickles, covering the floor around him in glass, pickles, and pickle juice.

Emily scan the rows and shelves for anything her little budget of money could get her. She sighed and grab down a couple of can soups, ramen noodles, and her favorite, a jar of pickles. Emily mouth almost seem to water, pickles were her favorite next to ramen which she seem to have a lot of. "OK this all I can buy for now..." Emily headed to wards the check out. She loaded all of her food and watched as the bag boy place them in the bag unorganized. Emily could her her noodles been crushed under the cans. "noodles can still be eaten even crushed as long he doesn't do anything to my pickles".
Emily glance behind her and heard the bag boy say "oh crap". The glass shattered causing Emily to jump as she looked down and gasp. "My pickles!"

For the first time, Ty looked at the customer whose groceries he was bagging. He saw it was a girl, about his age. And she seemed really upset when he dropped the pickles. "Awwww.....man...I'm really sorry." Faster than he ever had, he cleaned up the mess, and ran as fast as he could to the other end of the store, grabbing a jar of pickles just like the one he broke. He returned to the counter and rang up the pickles. "That'd be $3.50 without the pickles." He then pulled some cash out of his pocket and carefully placed the pickles in the bag. He smiled. "Sorry about the first jar. For that, these are on me."

Emily nails tighten into her palms to the point they almost bleed as she eyed the mess and finally the bag boy. He was her age and on the cute side so that calmed her a little. " OK his a pretty boy so I won't hurt his face if I have to pay for the damn broken jar" she thought as a small growl escaped her lips. The bag boy apologized and up the mess, running off to the back of the store. Emily sighed as she breathed deep playing with the ends of her plained mini skirt. The bag boy came back with another jar and this time was actually careful. "I swear if I have to pay for this one too..." before she could finish he said those magic words "its on me". Emily smiled sweetly, " oh well thank you um..." Emily looked at his tag. "Ty."

"No problem," Ty said nicely. "It was my fault the first jar got broken." Then he whispered, so his fellow employees wouldn't hear and tell on him, "I hate working here, but it's the only place in the county that'll hire me. I'm kind of looking forward to my lunch break." He looked at his watch. Noon sharp. "I'm goin' on my break!" Ty exclaimed so the other workers would know. "It's acutally time for my break, now," Ty said casually as he handed her her reciept. "I'll carry these for you. And don't worry I won't drop it. I don't believe I got your name..."

Emily smiled again. "It's Emily. Emily bloodcross." She was a little nervous in letting him carry the bags. "I guess you can carry them just no if u drop this I wouldn't break your face." Emily laughed saying it in the most playful manner. "So your on your lunch break huh? Guess I can take you out for lunch. That's is if you want too later on though?" Emily round the check out and looked up at his face. "Man your tall..." Emily turned and headed out of the store and patted her legs for Ty to follow.

Ty laughed. "I'll be careful I promise. And thanks. I like my face," He joked as he followed. "I'd like that, Emily. I was thinking of maybe taking the rest of the day off. I haven't missed a day at work yet. My boss would probably be glad to have a break from me. I'm not the best employee...." He walked behind her, keeping a tight grip on the bags. "I'm actually average height...or so I'm told. Most guys my age tower over me..." Ty chuckled a little, then pulled out his cell phone to call his boss, keeping the bags tightly under his arm. "Hey, Jim? You care if I take the rest of the day off? I need a break..." "You? Take the rest of the day off? SURE!!!!"

Emily watched as Ty called his boss. "If you don't like the job why do you work there?" Emily watched the bag and his hands still looking at the phone. "If I was you I would just quit, but then again you don't live on dead parent's money like me". She stopped at the end of the parking lot black eclipse wanted on chrome wheels. She pop the trunk, "carefully put in the trunk and get in." Emily went around to the diver side and slip in. She rev up the car and sighed as the engine almost purred. "God I love this car".

Ty carefully put it in the trunk. "It's a really nice car. And I work there to keep what meager existence I have. I should be grateful that they haven't fired me..." He got in, and sat back. "Heh, you should've heard my boss's reaction when I asked for the rest of the day off...Priceless." He grinned as he remembered the excitement in Jim's voice.

"Hmm...okay. Sounds cool to me," Ty said in response to Emily's offer. "It's fine. I know how it is to be tired. After work, the first thing I do when I get home is collapse on the couch and don't move for a few hours." Ty got out, shut the door and walked inside with Emily, his stomach growling. After thinking a while, he finally got the roast beef sub.

"Uh, thanks!" Ty said. "And yeah, I'll go." He walked out and got into the car. "Okay, sure thing." He didn't know what to think about being a "practice dummy" for little kids, but anything was better than a boring job at a grocery store.
