Cassie sighed, deep in thought. Was this the only thing they had going for them? It was hard to be sure. "I-I'm not real sure." She looked at Tobias and Marco to see what they would choose.

Tobias felt overwhelmed, confused. He wanted desperately to say yes but was it the right thing? What if something happened in bringing Rachel back that hurt her worse? And what was the price they would pay? "I don't know...You probably know how badly I want to say yes..." he replied, trailing off.

"What are we doing?" Eva's voice came up behind Carson. He jumped only slightly, but it was enough to send him flying down the stairs. "Ahhh-oof!" Carson looked up at the ceiling, having landed on his back and muttered, "Why is it always me?" He caught his breath and stood up, turning to, what was the term, to face the music.

Eva froze when Carson went tumbling down the stairs. She waited long enough to make sure he was okay, and then turned to head back up the stairs.

Carson saw Eva move in the corner of his eye and said, "Oh, no. Eva, get down here! I am NOT the only one getting in trouble for this!"

Jake would've said something but he then heard someone fall down the stairs. He turned and noticed it was Carson. He sighed. How long had he been there. He then listened to him yell at Eva to come down as well.
He turned over to look at Marco and gave him that "Your daughter is a bad influence," look.

"I vote," Marco was about to give his answer when he heard the sound of someone falling down the stairs. He turned to hear Carson telling Eva to get back down the stairs, and caught Jake's look. He shot back one that said, 'Hey, it might be YOUR kids fault.' before walking toward where the sound had come from, "Evelyn, you'd better not be doing anything stupid."

Eva froze. Full first name alert, Full first name alert! Eva smiled a bit innocently, and said, "Stupid? Why would I do something stupid, Dad?" She tried her best to look innocent.
(ooc: Carson, u might want to size it down a bit! XP)

Jake saw the look Marco gave back. Though Marco had to admit, 9 times out of 10 it was Eva's fault. He followed Marco over. He looked over at Carson. "Carson......what are you doing?" he asked. He gave that "lie and you'll be in even bigger trouble" look.

Carson watched as his father walked over behind Marco. He bit his lip. What was I doing? Oh yeah, eavesdropping...this is something Eva would do, not me... Carson knew the look he was given. He's gotten that a lot, thanks to Eva. 9 times out of 10, he ended up telling the truth, and he had to admit that every time he lied, he was caught. He lied like his mother, for crying out loud!
So, instead, he looked at Eva for a second and then back at his father. "Well, I honestly don't know why she's here, first off." Oh yeah, that SO answered Dad's question...

Cassie heard an "Ahhhh-oooof" come from the stairs, and saw Carson on the floor. "Carson?" Then she made a quiet "Ah" sound when he yelled at Eva. Of course. Should've known. Didn't know she was coming over today, though. She didn't think much more on it.
She saw Carson look at Eva for a second and then he answered Jake. How does that answer his question?

Jackie had been listening in too, but had been smart enough to back off when the others crowded the stairs. At least, she thought, she could honestly say she had no idea what Eva and Carson were doing if asked. She'd been focused on the situation at hand, wondering what the decision would be.
<I don't know what to think...We can't fight this war alone...but if this 'price' is something bad... Now I know what they must've felt back in the beginning.>
<It's a difficult choice...I have confidence in them, but am glad that I'm not in the same position.>
<Me too. Oh man, what are those two doing...?> She'd wondered as she'd seen them coming toward the stairs and had backstepped a few feet to avoid falling and being seen. <They get into more trouble...> She said the last part half in her head and half as an annoyed whisper. At least it wouldn't blow her secret, she thought.
