Tobias picked up his cell when he saw Cassie's number on the ID. He was curious as he answered and said hello to her.
"Hey Cassie...what's going on?" he asked.
(I need to figure out a job or something for him lol)

Cassie was glad that Tobias had answered. "Hey, Tobias. We need to talk. Do you think you could drive over here? It's important." She didn't want to say anything over the phone out of habit.

Cassie's wording made Tobias even more curious. He hadn't used the phone much in the old days obviously but he knew their habit of not saying anything major over the phone. "Is there trouble of some kind? I'll come over, yeah. You have me very curious."

Cassie said, "Well, we got a visit from an old friend of ours, and he told us something that we think everyone needs to hear. That's what this is about." She sat down at the dining room table and looked up at the ceiling.

"Why do I not like the sound of that?" Okay, just give me a couple of minutes. I'll be there. I'll
Tobias hung up the phone and morphed into the hawk's body that had become so natural to him. He fluttered up and out, and arrived at his destination within a few minutes' flying time. He rapped at the door with his beak, still not totally comfortable morphing where he could be seen.

It took Marco a little longer to get to the Berenson house, what with traffic and such. Maybe he should have flown too, but he had chosen to drive. He sat in his car, a red light seeming to take forever. He drummed on the steering wheel with his fingers, clearly a bit frustrated. A few minutes ago, he'd been glad that he'd had his fastest car with him, now that didn't matter because of the traffic.
He glanced up and saw a red-tailed hawk soar past. It might have been just a plain old bird, or it might have been Tobias, he wasn't sure. All he knew for sure was that if Tobias had heard about Rachel, the two would be having a fight pretty soon. He was fairly certain bird boy wouldn't like his logic.
Soon the traffic was moving again, and there were no more lights between there and Jake's house. Marco made pretty good time, speeding most of the way. He pulled into the drive and quickly got out of his car, making his way to the door. There he saw Tobias, rapping at the entrance with his beak, "Well, there's something you don't see everyday..."

Cassie heard a soft tapping a few minutes after she had hung up the phone. She stood up and said, "I'll get it." She opened the door and saw Marco. Then she looked down and saw Tobias. She raised an eyebrow and said, "Hey, guys. Come on in." She moved to the side to let them in. "Jake, they're here." She called to her husband.

Jake followed Cassie over to the door and saw Marco and Tobias had come over. He waited for them to come in and the door to be shut before he took a deep breath and started to say why he had called them over.
"The Ellimist came to me," he started out. "Said another invasion was going to begin. And that he can bring Rachel back but at a price. We can't know what that price is. He also said that we could possibly get Ax back......but he didn't sound as sure as he did when he said Rachel could come back," He watched to see the others expressions.

Tobias demorphed after he was let in, with Marco right behind him. He listened to Jake, and was instantly alert when he heard about Rachel. He was conflicted, wondering how it would happen and what the price would be. It would be worth it for him but if the price was too high... He sighed.

Marco wandered in after Tobias. He listed as Jake explained what was going on while Tobias demorphed. Bring Rachel back, at a price. Tru, he and RAchel hadn't been the best of friends, but she had fought with them, she was his friend. It was a tough call to make. He looked to Tobias for his reaction, and was surprised when he didn't hear an instant yes.
"Sure, it SOUNDS great...but who knows what this price is. If its something that affects me or my family...I dunno. Knowing the Ellimist, the price will be high." He shook his head, not wanting to sound like a bad guy with a flat out no.

Cassie thought about what Marco said. "Well, we have advantages and disadvantages to both choices. If we say yes, we want Rachel back, we have to pay a price, whether it be someone else gets killed, or our children our involved; that's a disadvantage. The advantage is we're getting Rachel and, possibly, Ax back, which would take us back to the original number." She looked around at the group and said, "But if we say no, then it's us four fighting the Yeerks. And our kids might still get involved. But that price wouldn't be paid. It's a tough call."

Carson had just walked up the driveway after basketball practice when he noticed Mr. Arzabe's car. "What is Eva's Dad doing here?" he muttered under his breath. Deciding to sneak in, he walked around the building and climbed a tree. Carefully sliding his window open, Carson slid inside his room. Carson was glad to see his door was open since it creaked everytime he opened it. He carefully walked down the stairs and listened quietly. ...say no, then it's us four fighting the Yeerks. And our kids might still get involved. But that price wouldn't be paid. It's a tough call...

Marco shook his head, his eyes closed as he tried to think, "Man, this sucks! I thought we beat those damn slugs! How the hell did they manage to come back?"
All he could think of at the moment was his family, his wife and children, his mother and father. If the war was starting up again, then what would happen to them? What if the price he had to pay was one of them? But still... "When you put it that way, Cassie...it sounds like it's not much of a choice."
Lose the kids either way, he thought. They get involved either way. That was the risk he now saw. Either way they were going to be targetted by the yeerks. The question became, which choice was more likely to save his family?

Eva had decided to go talk to Carson real quick before heading home, so she went through the forest and just reached the house when she saw Carson climb through a window. She raised an eyebrow but followed suit. She climbed up through the same window Carson had and tiptoed over to him. "What are we doing?" She whispered.

Jake mulled over his thoughts. How could they decide? He knew he wanted to say yes. It was his fault and for all these years he had wanted to change what happened. Now he had that chance.
But could they really do that? Did Rachel even want to come back? How could they decide if she didn't want to? "So......what do we choose?" he asked after awhile.
