"Yeah, Gorilla was the morph I usually used to fight. They might be peaceful, but man are they strong!" Marco had to smile, it just figured that his daughter's favourite animal was one that he had morphed in his own youth, "That or wolf, depending on the situation. Sometimes other animals too, but those were the ones I used mostly."
"That's so cool! I bet it's fun to know you're so strong, huh, Dad?" Laura added with a smile, she had to resist making a joke about how much shorter than Jake her father was.

Eva couldn't. "So that was one of the times that you actually grew taller than Uncle Jake?" Eva was ready to dodge what came at her. She laughed though. "Wolf, too? Wow." She didn't know her father went through that much.

Marco narrowed his eyes at Eva, "Don't make me ground you..."
"Sure, we all have the wolf morph...well...except Tobias. That was before the Ellimist gave him back the morphing power." Marco knew that statement would confuse his girls, so he quickly added, "The Elimist being this all powerful jerk that liked to play games with us."
Laura went wide eyed at the mention of an all powerful being, "Wow, really?!"

Eva gave her father a quick kiss on the cheek. "Sorry, Dad. I get my height from you. You should be proud of that." Then she sat back down. "Ellimist? Jerk? What? What does he look like? Assuming it's a he."

"And of course I am." Marco replied with a grin. His little girls knew just how to soften him up, "As for the Ellimist, he...it...they...we never could quite figure that out. There is no real body we know of, but The Ellimist always appeared to us as this sort of shimmering blue Obi Wan Kenobi type guy. And ALWAYS to bring some kind of bad news, or offer some twisted choice."

Eva giggled. "You watch too many Star Wars movies, Dad." "Twisted? How?" Eva sneezed all of the sudden. "'Scuse me."

"Well, the Ellimist is just all together twisted. He says he can't interfere, but then does nothing but interfere until you need him. Its hard to explain, really...like he would freeze time and offer us some lousy choice, 'Let the earth be destroyed, and i'll save you and your families and take you to another planet, or keep fighting and lose.' Then, he shows you just the right thing to get out of it without making a choice at all! Yet when you really need him, like when Rachel died, he isn't there!"
Marco was visibly growing more upset as he talked about the Ellimist. He'd never really like him, orr them, or whatever. And yet he/it/they, were always interfering in his life.
Laura got up and went to hug her father, "That's awful Daddy!"

Eva rushed to hug her father too. "He's an awful person, Daddy." She gave a derisive snort. "When I see him, I'll hit him right on the nose."

"Ah, but he's not exactly solid, Eva. I appreciate the thought though." He gave a smile and hugged his daughters, "Now, who wants to see a morph or two?"
He stood and made his way out toward the pool.
"Yeah!" Laura rushed after him, eager to see this process called morphing.
"Now, I warn you, it's insane, and a little disturbing." Marco warned his children.

Eva followed her father, and said, "Disturbing? How could it be disturbing?" She stood next to Laura as they watched him.

"Watch and see," Marco replied to his eldest daughter, grinning slightly, "Sci-fi has nothing on me."
That said he decided to do the gorilla morph first. He focused his mind on the large ape whose DNA floated among his own, and slowly but surely the changes began. The first thing to change was that his face pushed out, the skin on his hands and face became thick and leathery, as did the skin on his feet. His dark hair seemed to ripple and sread across his body.

Eva quirked an eyebrow at her father, but didn't say anything about the sci-fi comment. Then when he started to morph, she did find it a little disturbing, but cool too. Though at first she had to wonder what he was morphing, but then realized it was gorilla. "Wow," she breathed. Then she wasn't sure if her father could speak at all while in morph. But at least he could still hear. "Dad? That was awesome!"

<Hahah!> Marco hadn't used his Gorilla morph in a while, and he felt the strength of the animal come rushing back to him as his muscle rippled out, large and more impressive than any human's could be. <Watchout Swartzenegger!>
It was nice to be able to morph without having to go into battle, though he hadn't had to worry about the Yeerks in fifteen years.
"Okay," Laura said as he father's voice echoed in her head. "That's a little odd..."

Eva sat down. HARD. She stared at her father. "That...I don't think I would ever get used to." But her eyes lit up once more. "What other morphs do you have?"

Marco let out a thoughtspeak laugh before focusing once again on his human self. The change began to reverse, the fur melted back into his skin, leaving just a patch atop his head for his own hair. The muscles began to wither away, leaving loose folds of skin that slowly shrivled back into place, taught against his own human frame. His face returned to normal, and he was standing there again, his normal self.
"Let's see...you already know about the wolf and the osprey." He tapped a finger on his chin as he thought, "There's cobra, Irish setter, bee, bat, mosquito, flea..."
He gave a slight shudder, "Never realized how many bugs I had to morph..."
