Ty got out and soon emerged with a small suitcase, which he put in his lap.
He got out when they got to Cass' place. "Nice place. A lot better than I have..." he commented. When they got inside he sat down and asked, "So...whatcha been up to?"

Cass smiled. "It's really not much. A house is just a house." When they got in, Ty sat down and asked her what she's been up to and she said, "Well.....do you want a drink first?"
She went to the fridge to see what they had and called them out to him. Then she waited for a response.

Ty listened, and asked for lemonade. He sat, looking around the room.
It had been so long since he'd seen her, and it felt great to see her again. But, he was feeling...different about her. But, it was a good different.

Cass sat down next to him and smiled as she handed him a lemonade and put hers on the table. "A lot...has happened...since you and Nichole left. Nichole left about two years after you did. I moved out and then there was other things."
First thing she explained to Ty was the Social Services taking her to court to grant custody over Tyler and how she met Ricky.

Ty listened as she spoke. "Wow...that's a lot to deal with," he said. "I'm sorry to hear that. I wish I could've been here, but I couldn't. "Had stuff to take care of out of state, and had to save up forever to make it back..."
"Well, my life has pretty much been...well, not great...My parents moved away shortly before I left, and I had to leave when they died, for the funeral. Couldn't get back. And my sister's been missing for years..."

Cass listened as Ty explained what's been going on with him. She felt like crying, because he didn't have all that great a time either. Instead, she gave him a hug. "It's okay, I understand. You can't be here for everything, you know?"
She took a sip of her lemonade and put it back down again. "I'm sure we'll find your sister again..." She wasn't sure she wanted to tell him what happened with Ricky, but she was gathering the strength for it anyway.

Ty sipped his lemonade, putting it down when she hugged him. He hugged her back.
"I know...I just feel so bad, though. Not that it matters, anyway..as far as everyone but my close friends know, Ty Summers is dead, and I'm just some guy with the same first name..."

Cass felt different in his arms, like she felt warm and protected in his arms. She couldn't understand it fully. They were friends, maybe it was the fact that they were that made her feel that way. It's only been eighteen years.
"You're not some guy with the same name. You're the same Ty. Just with a different last name...Why the Ellimist didn't do that with me, I will never know..."

"Well," Ty said, "you and everyone close to me knows that, but others don't." He smiled. He enjoyed the feel of his arms wrapped around her. It felt....nice. Sure they were friends, had been for years. But, somewhere in the back of his mind, he wondered if maybe they could be more...
"Oh, well, I understand why he did that with me. See, back then, with all that was going on, if I'd just been brought back, I'd have easily been tracked down and killed again, or worse." He paused. "Wait...with you?"

Cass gave him a smile and said, "The others don't need to know your last name to know you. You still have the same personality. That's what makes you who you are." She looked into Ty's eyes when he said, "Wait...with you?"
Then she explained everything. Jay trying to kill her, Ricky trying to find Tyler and killed her in the process, being brought back to life. She didn't mention that Jay was still alive, however...Jay could be anywhere.
I. Always. Come. Back.

Ty listened, hugging her tighter without realizing it. "I'm so sorry....that's terrible. You've been through a lot," he said quietly, though he didn't want to let her go.
"But, everything's okay now. And you have Tyler. And...your old buddy Ty's back in town."

Cass felt Ty's arms hug her tighter, but not a lot. It was only slight. But it triggered something. She gasped and clenched her hands into balls, holding the fabric of Ty's shirt.
She then pushed back and then stared at Ty. "I'm...Sorry....this whole thing with Jay last night....it got to me..."

Ty blinked and let go. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to," he said. "I didn't know."
He leaned back and looked her in the eyes. His own showed concern. "Last night? Cass...you just told me he died a while back...you...lied?" His face looked pained.

Cass had to look away in shame. She turned her head and said, "I swear it was only to protect everyone..." Tears started rolling down her cheeks.
"I thought he was dead until last night. I had been chatting with this guy named Jacob for the last three weeks, and we finally decided to meet last night. When he got here, he came up behind me and held me, kissed my neck, and when I said that I trusted him he spun me around and kissed me. I looked and it...it....was Jay. I went to scream and he pushed me against the sink and kissed me again. He threatened me that if I told anyone, he'd know...and he said something that gave me nightmares last night....'I. Always. Come. Back....'" Then she broke down.

"Wow...that's kind of a big deal..." Ty said, thinking. His voice softened. "But listen, lying to your loved ones doesn't often protect them. It can endanger them more than you think."
"Look, he's not going to hurt you anymore. I won't let him. But...it's been eighteen years or so since I've seen him last. You wouldn't have...a picture would you?"
