(if you have a place for this, you can move it; it was confusing with the housing set up.)
*I cannot believe this, I am soooo beyond lucky* Jackie thought. *But then, who knew the yeerks were back? Maybe it's not my fault. But I'm just darn lucky I got this one. My father would die if I'd been made a slave...* she sighed. She could still remember being dragged onto the pier and her head pushed into the water, then the pain. Her one advantage was that though the yeerks knew about the Animorphs and their kids, they hadn' caught on to who she was quite yet. Otherwise, according to Illan, she'd likely have gotten a sub visser or visser or something special.
<<Actually, it wasn't luck, the Peace Movement arranged it...they knew the consequinces of you getting the wrong yeerk>>
*Whichever of us sees them next has got to thank them. At least maybe working with you all, I can get people to see me for me now instead of him. That I can make a difference in my own way. It's tiring being 'Jake the Animorph's daughter' all the time. Hello, I'm me, not him!*
<<You'll do well, don't worry.>>
*He'll kill me if he finds out though. I think he'd be okay with you, I know mom would, but they'd think it was too dangerous and all...I don't think I can tell him yet.*
<<I do agree you should wait for the right time. I do hope both of them are understanding enough.>>
With a sigh, Jackie went downstairs, a little wierded by the idea of her parents not knowing she had a new body-mate. She desperately wanted to tell them what was going on, but the question was, how, without as yet informing them of her situation?

Jake had just gotten home. He had gone for a short flight. He did that often now take short flights as his falcon. It helped him keep his mind off of things. It never was for long but it was enough to keep him from thinking too deeply.
He looked over and noticed Jackie coming downstairs. He noticed her sighing and asked, "Long day I take it?"

"Yeah kinda. Although that's just school for you, I guess. That and trying to get people to stop asking me and talking about the two of you. I'm sorry, it's just...let me say it this way. Why would anyone ever get famous on purpose? Even being a celebrity's kid stinks sometimes."
<I know what I'm really going to hate...the trips to the pool. I wish you guys would perfect portable kandronas. Of course, that'd tip off my parents in a hurry. And probably doom us>
<No one really likes it. Even some of us. And yes, the only reason the yeerks have the problems they do is the kandrona issue. You'll be all right though, you're strong. And I won't complain if you feel like venting after I return.>
<Thanks>

Jake nodded. "I bet. I never wanted this fame," he told her. "But we just have to make due. Don't feel like you have to talk about us. Just tell them you're tired of telling the same stories." He then smirked. "Or just tell the most possibly boring stories you can tell. Shouldn't be too hard."

"Yeah that's true" she replied with a laugh. "Sometimes I wish I could morph. It'd be interesting..."
<Don't worry, I wouldn't morph anything too small and sqaush you>
<I appreciate it. Actually some of us would quite like it...many of the YPM members envied Aftran back then.>
<Understandable. Mom once said she just hoped Aftran doesn't get hunted...no one can tell she's not a whale but it would still be sad. Still, she's doing way better than most yeerks.>
<Yes.>
"Has anyone...is there any chance any of that could happen again? Yeerks coming back?" she asked. She wondered what he thought and was probing without giving anything away.

Jake raised an eyebrow. Why would she ask that? "As far as I know......no," he lied. He remembered the Ellimist's words. They were back. But why worry his daughter about it? "You shouldn't have to worry about them,"

"Oh. It's just...from all the stories, it wasn't a good time back then. I don't want anymore icky aliens showing up. We have enough trouble on our own planet, from the looks of things."
<No offense>
<None taken.>
" I wish as long as the aliens keep coming, someone would invent something to eliminate school. You'd think with their advanced stuff, we'd get at least a little break."

Jake smirked. "You may not realize it now, but school is important. It isn't something that can be rid of. You need an education to get anywhere." he told her.
"I wish I had more of a normal childhood. Wish I learned a bit more than I did. Would've been nice,"

"Yeah" she nodded. "I can't imagine dealing with all that stuff. And I wish it had been different for uncle Tom too." Fidgeting for a moment, she decided she had to try something.
"Actually I said that before, about the yeerks because of some wierd things. When I got detention last week, I saw a kid get taken out...when he came back his hair was all wet. And other kids are talking about things like that sometimes. I remember you said the pool used to be under the school building. I mean...I'm sure there's a perfectly reasonable earth explanation but it's still wierd."

Jake raised an eyebrow at what she said. They were infesting people at the school already? No......maybe tehy were both being paranoid. It couldn't have started yet. Who am I kidding? I'm just wishing it hasn't
"Yeah, that is odd," he told her. "But I wouldn't worry about it. The yeerks......arre long gone,"

Cassie got out of her car and stretched. A long day's work and she is still stiff from it. She should have gotten used to it. She grabbed her belongings from the back of the car and walked up the front steps. She balanced everything on one hand as she opened the door and walked in. "I'm home." she called out. She set her briefcase down in the dining room, and glanced at the time. "Sorry I'm a bit late. There was this new employee at work that didn't know what he was doing. So I showed him how." She saw Jake and Jackie and then asked, "Oh, sorry, did I interrupt something?"

Jackie was wrestling internally, worried about Eva but not sure how to approach it. Illan wasn't much help; he only said that as Jackie knew, it was her choice, her decision.
"I'm not sure...I was just telling about some usual stuff, not liking school, being tired lately...and wondering about some woierd stuff going on. I acted like I didn't know but I don't think there's any way around this. I know they're back...and they've got Eva. Don't freak, I'm me, I'm okay. But I know they have her."

Cassie put a hand to her mouth. Marco was not going to like this. "H-how did they get her?" Forget how she knew...for now.she told herself. She looked over at Jake. "What are we going to do?"

Jake raised an eyebrow. They had gotten Eva? How did Jackie know? "Well, first off we tell Marco and get Eva." he said thinking it hrough. "We'll keep her away from the pool for three days." He then looked at Jackie. "How exactly do you know?"

"I have help...from an old friend." Jackie sighed. This wasn't easy, and she was nearly shaking, afraid of what they'd say. "Mom worked with him the most but he says he's met you too. I'll let him talk. Just please, try to keep an open mind and don't freak out on me. It might scare you and not make you happy, but I couldn't totally control it given the situation. I'm making the best of it."
There was little change in her, save for the words she said, to indicate the change in control.
"It is good to speak with you again, Jake and Cassie the Animorphs. When last we spoke, I was partnered with a human named Tidwell. He has since passed on, and now I am working with your daughter. You hold my DNA within you, Cassie, and you used it to save your friend Aftran. Please, do not be angry with Jackie...even though she did get taken because of a bit of carelessness, we arranged for this so that your group would be safe. She has chosen to make the best of the situation and fight the only way she knows how."
"It's me again. Let me do this...so you know it really is me. Illan agreed to it." She let him detach from her brain, and come out into her hand. "Now you know it's really me and not a trick."
I know you're probably going to yell at me, but I thought that working with the YPM was the only way to keep myself and all of you safe...you know they can get dangerous if a controller diappears. Illan says Karen got lucky, but often, those who disappear die. I figured the best thing to do was make the best of things and try to help you out the only way I could at the moment. Believe me, I hate going down there...and playing a part in this scares me. I know you probably aren't happy with me...us...but try not to freak out. Oh...if you want to talk to him, he's willing to speak to you directly. "
