Carson reached his home, and hesitated, seeing as his mom was still working. "Now or never," he muttered under his breath. He walked into the house and looked around for his father. "Dad? Are you home?"

Jake had just started to head downstairs, when he heard Carson call for him. "Yeah, I'm right here," he said as he walked down. He went over to Carson. "What's up?"

Carson saw his father and thought of how to start this. Well.....I kind of like your best friend's daughter, but I'm afraid he's going to come at me as a Gorilla... "I don't know what to do. I have a problem..." A big one...

Jake raised an eyebrow. What kind of problem could he have? "It would help if you tell me what the problem is," he told him. "Whatever it is, I'll try the best I can to give you advice,"

Carson blinked. Oh, right, that would help, wouldn't it? "Well....uh...." How should he approach this..."Hypothetically. What if I have this friend, but I just started having feelings for her, and I'm afraid of ruining our friendship and also afraid that her father will go all ape on me and attack me for even thinking about it..." He spilled it out for his Dad, in a hypothetical way.

Jake raised his eyebrow again. Hypothetically? He knew that unless it was ridiculusly crazy, people didn't usually ask hypothetical questions unless they were true. But he'd play along for the moment. "Well, "hypothetically" do you think that friend has feelings for you back?" he asked.

Carson thought for a moment. "I'm not sure if she, er, hypothetically, would or not." Then, deciding to forget the whole hypothetical approach, he said, "We were just hanging out at the mall....er...dancing when I figured it out."

Jake nodded. "I see..." he said noticing he dropped the hypotheticals. "Well, all I can say is give it a shot," he said after a while. "If you don't you'll always be wondering about it. Be asking what if questions. You ask now, you'll know the answer right away,"

Carson looked at his father. "And how would I handle Eva's dad? He could so morph monkey, that's all I'm saying." Carson then nodded. "Thanks, Dad. I really needed that." Another question entered his mind. "Hey, Dad? How did you know Mom was the one you would marry?"

Jake nodded...wait did he say Eva? "You said Eva right? Like Marco's daughter Eva?" he asked Carson. That didn't give Carson much of a chance. He knew how protective of his daughters Marco could get.
Then Carson's second question caught him off guard. "That one is a little complicated to answer..." he said trying to gather his thoughts. "Its...just one of those things. You can't really describe it. I know, its not much of an answer, but you'll know when it happens"

Uh-oh. This isn't going to be good, is it? Carson nodded. "Yeah. That Eva. Why?" I was being literal when I said that her dad could go ape. He thought. Carson saw that he caught his father a little off guard. Well, there's a first for everything. Carson blinked, and then nodded. "Okay."
