Ellbant had been working almost non stop sense the dome managed to land. They barely got away from the three blade ships, and they certainly didn't get away unscathed. Several of the fighter ships were badly damaged if not completely destroyed, as well as the dome ship it's self, the dome of which Leona had blasted in to the ocean.
All things considered the dome was likely safer down there, but he had over heard the captain complaining about having to go recover it later. The bottom line was Ellbant hadn't even had enough of a break to contact his lover and tell him he was back on Earth again.
He had seen a few news vans was certain the incident had been broadcast on Earth's TV channels, but even at that he couldn't be one hundred percent sure Mike knew what was going on.
Having finally managed to slip away from his work Ellbant crept through the base on those dainty hooves, looking to get to a phone that was able to transmit thought speak before the captain noticed he was away from his work station. If all else failed he could always use his human morph to call Mike on a regular phone, the only trouble was finding one in a some what secluded spot where he wouldn't be bothered.

Mike ran a hand through his hair as he drove through the gates of the military. He couldn't believe he was called in on a military base. He hardly received those calls anymore. Mainly because they had doctors on the base. Apparently the one they had was busy and needed a hand.
Getting out of the car, Mike grabbed his bag of equipment and headed inside. He was rushing as to get to where he needed to be and was looking at the charts. "All right. Open your mouth so I can take your temp-" At that point, Mike lifted his head to see a very angry andalite. "Oh. You don't have a mouth. I'm-uh. Well...that makes things...erm....easier...I think." He stammered reading the chart. On the top left corner, it read 'Andalite.' He shook his head and gave a sheepish smile.

The sound of a familiar voice caused Ellbant's ears to twitch. He instantly perked, nearly prancing over to the door to an exam room, apparently having wondered in to the medical wing of the building. Pushing the door open just a crack he peaked in with just one of his stalk eyes, just in case he was mistaken.
Upon seeing Mike, however Ellbant instantly threw the door open and ran in to throw his arms around the human, seeming to be completely oblivious to the other andalite in the room. <Michael!> His thoughts cried already nuzzling against his lover's cheek.

Michael was caught by surprise to hear Ellbant's thought speak voice in his head. When he got hugged from behind, he dropped the chart, and laughed softly. "All right, you big oaf!" he teased lightly. Of course, he meant nothing by it, but kind of froze when he heard another voice in his head.
<Ahem. I am a bit injured here! I would appreciate some little piece of respect, enough to patch me up, and no, human, I do not have a mouth.> The andalite glared, causing Mike to gulp. "I'm sorry." He looked at Ellbant, and gave a small smile. He picked up the charts and while turning the page, he whispered, "What are you doing back on Earth?"

Ellbant jumped at the sound of someone else's thought speak, apparently so distracted by Mike that he just now noticed the injured andalite in the room with them. His main eyes lowered looking a bit embarrassed. <Oh, uhh sorry to interrupt.>
His dark main eyes turned to Mike, returning the smile with his own andalite smile. <It's a long story.> He answered privately to Michael. <I'll tell you about it when you're not busy. This guy seems pretty grumpy I'd better let you get back to him...come find me in the repair bay when you're done, alright?>

Mike hid a grin from Ellbant; he found it too amusing for his lover to be embarrassed. He glanced at the charts one more and bobbed his head once at Ellbant's private thought speak. He looked at the andalite and said, "All right. Do you feel nauseated?"
<No.> "Right. Do you have congestion?" <No.> "Right...do you-" <No, no, NO! Don't you get that?! Just set my tail, and let me OUT!> The andalite's eyes showed anger. "Well, ya could have said it was your tail. You look fine upfront." He worked on the tail for a few minutes and then watched the grumpy Andalite leave. "Mr. Stooge." Walking out to the bay area, he found Ellbant again. "Well, done with Mr. Scrooge."

Ellbant's eyes gave a gleeful smile seeing Mike walking in to the bay. He quickly tossed an odd looking alien tool in is hand back in to his tool box as he turned to give his love his full attention. Those almost delicate hooves seemed to dance across the floor as the stepped over.
<I've missed you.> He confessed allowing his palm to brush against Mike's cheek in what was the andalite equivalent of kissing. <So what are you doing at the base any how? I thought you worked in civilian hospitals?>

Mike smiled at Ellbant. "I've missed you, too." He had to laugh at his question about working for civilians. "You know, it's funny. Last time I checked, I did work for civilians. All seriousness aside, the regular doctor was busy." He smirked.
Mike looked around. "Didn't know you were back. What took you so long? Go through a drive-thru that was backed up for miles?" He joked. Then his face kind of grew somber as he remembered what had happened since Ellbant last left. He shook his head and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Glad you're back. You have no idea how much I've missed you."

Ellbant looked slightly confused. Being stationed under a Princess who was at one time human and in his frequent visits to Earth he had learned quite a bit about human culture, but just the same he wasn't too sure what Mike was talking about with the whole 'drive-thru' thing.
<Uh, we were jumped by three rebel blade ships while preparing to enter Earth's atmosphere. You wouldn't believe the damage our ships sustained, I've been working non-stop on repairs ever sense! I was actually sneaking away to try and contact you when I found you in the medical wing.> He explained sounding obviously annoyed with the work load that had been laid on him and the other mechanics.
Seeing Mike's expression change Ellbant gave a few concerned blinks before offering a reassuring smile. <Well it sounds like I'll be here for a good while this time.> He answered while drawing Michael in to a hug, something he'd learned humans often did as a sign of affection.

Mike laughed at Ellbant's confused look. "Sorry. Maybe someday I'll take you to a drive-thru. It was funny because there are none in space." He scratched the back of his head. "Dang. You work on those ever since? Hah, that is irony. Call me and I'm here. You'd be hearing my ringtone right behind you."
Mike was slightly surprised by the hug. Had he seen the hurt look? He patted Ellbant on the back. "That's good. And you'd better bet that it won't be easy for you to leave either." He laughed.

Drawing back from the hug to look at his love again Ellbant's eyes gave a warm smile. <Leaving you is never an easy task.> He confessed.
<So how has everyone been?> He asked lightly, wanting to know what Michael had been up to in his absents. <How's your family?> His eyes made what seemed to be a playful grin as he teased his lover a bit. <Any chance your mother will be making cinnamon buns again while I'm here?> He asked sounding almost a bit too anxious remembering how delightful they were last time.

Mike had to laugh at Ellbant's confession. "Funny. Watching you leave isn't an easy task either. Who knew?"
Mike stopped when Ellbant asked how everyone has been, and ran his hand through his hair. "We have a lot to catch up on Ellbant. Can you talk now, or are you working?" He eyed the ship with a raised eyebrow. He was not looking forward to their chat.

Ellbant blinked curiously at Michael, before glancing back at the ship he'd been working on before then glancing around to make sure the Captain was no where to be seen.
<Yeah...this fighter is nothing but scrap metal at this point any how.> He answered glancing back to Mike with a gentle smile in his eyes. <Where would you like to go talk?>

Mike looked at it and smirked. "I could have told you that, and I haven't seen it for five minutes." He looked around. I don't want to do this.
Mike pointed to an area. "We can sit there if you want. Though there's not enough room for Andalites to go gallavanting about." He rubbed his face a couple times before looking back at Ellbant.

Ellbant gave a light nod in response, a gesture he'd picked up from working around humans. His hand slipped lightly in to Michael's to lead him over to the area indicated.
<I can stand.> He said lightly, knowing there wasn't much room in the space. <Sooo....what did you want to talk about?> Ellbant asked, almost a bit nervous. He'd heard that when humans told their lovers that 'we need to talk' it was usually a bad sign.
For a brief second Ellbant feared that perhaps in his time away from Earth Michael had fallen for someone else. Or keeping up the long distance relationship was too much for him. With out realizing it his hooves shifted nervously on the floor with a few light clicks.
