"I said don't call me sir," Jake told her. Though it seemed interesting. No place to stay huh? "Would you like to stay here?" he asked. "I figure if your supposed to help us out, then you can help us keep our kids safe. Make sure no one....suspcious lurks around our house, like you said there is one now. What do you say?"

"I suppose that could work out." Helen said. "Thank you, you saved me from having to deal with finding an apartment this late. Now I just have to setup a command center, but that can wait until tomorrow. Also I think at least one of you children could learn to be a bit more stealthy." She said, looking up at the top of the stairs.

Hektor approached the door, worrying in his head but not showing any. His biggest worry was that one of the animorphs in morph might be able to detect him. He had gone over every detail just in case there was a hawk, even added smells that should go with his cover, but now it was crunch time. There was at least 2 dangerous fighters in the household, and while Hektor was no stranger to combat, he knew he would have no chance against even 1 animorph in combat morph, let alone one with the unknown women. He wouldn't even go near this house if it wasn't necessary for his cover. Hektor's specialty was in his cover, and he had never been found out during a mission. Since this was a simple reconnaissance, he should not be worried at all, yet he was.
Hektor knocked on the door, waiting patiently and looking at his clipboard. He already knew what he was going to say.

Helen heard the doorbell and looked back at Mr. Berenson.
"Now would be a good time to give me orders, Sir. That is most likely the same spy I noticed on the way in. The way I see it there are two otions, we take him hostage and bleed him for intel, or we can play along and let him go and whoever he's working for won't know that we are aware of that they have someone watching this house." She said.

Cassie rolled over and yawned. "What is going on with all the noise?" She looked out the window and saw a man at the door. Not thinking clearly, she opened the window and leaned out to get a better look. The window made a noise as she opened it.

Jake raised an eyebrow at her. "We want to be subtle and we don't want him to know something is up here," he told her. "So we'll play along for now. Spring a trap later maybe," He then went to answer the door. "Hi can I help you? And is it quick? I'm in the middle of a business proposition."

Hektor launched into his prepared speech, bound to annoy anyone. His speech and his thoughts were completely separate, his body essentially acting on autopilot. He worry was going away, as he had been able to sneak past trained investigators, andalites and even people in morphs without ever having been discovered, so a couple of people in there own home would not be a problem. He knew he was being watched by 3 different people, and he saw the suspicious look in the young womens eyes.
He was already thinking of the future, and her suspicion actually made him feel better. She would be easy to manipulate, a hint here and a clue there and she would jump on it. He had seen the type before, jumping to conclusions early and without deliberation.
He finished his speech and started asking Jake questions.

Helen wanted to drag the guy into a dark basement and find out exactly what he was up to, but that wasn't what Mr. Berenson wanted. She was a free agent, but was under no delusion that she could make better decisions then the man who had lead the resistance the first time around. But that didn't mean she had to sit through the spy's Bull.
"I'm sorry to interrupt. I appreciate you taking the time to listen to my proposition at this late hour. If you'll excuse me, I have a few more things that must be accomplished tonight." Helen said. She nodded to the man in the doorway and walked back to the car. The man was no doubt aware that she found him suspicious, unfortunately she wasn't very good at concealing that at times.
She turned the key in the ignition and drove off. She still needed to find somewhere to use as the base operations, and tonight was as good a time as any.

Hektor noted which car she walked to without even turning around, and having already memorized the license plate before he had walked to the door, he continued his asking Jake questions, noting the way he was wary and worried, and smiled inside. She had acted exactly as he had thought she would, so his worry was greatly decreased, but he still had to worry how much influence she had with the leader of the Animorphs. He would need to assign someone to watch the house, and then would have to go call in some friends, he already had more than enough information to find out who she was.

Jake raised an eyebrow at the man's speech. HE wsan't even sure what the hell he was talking about. And then he started asking questions. Jake made sure to give vauge answers. He then watched as Helen walked out.
"Alright then. I'll let you know what I've decided later," he told her. The guy started going back to questions and Jake stopped him. "Look, I can't really listen to all this right now, its getting late, and that propsition she gave me was a doozy. Please understand." he told him.

Hektor smiled at the glazed look in Jakes eye. He knew he would have been bored to tears by now, so it was not a surprise. He took the hint and left, walking to the next house and continuing the pattern. Even as he walked away he was thinking, knowing he needed to report and then find out who the women was.
He was thinking about the car, and knew that it would be the key. Time to go call on some friends.

Jackie went back down the hall to her room, where she could look out the window. She wasn't concerned about the woman now as much as the man who'd come right when the lady was leaving.
<I think she's okay, but he makes me nervous. I think it's a little late to go around asking questions for whatever he's supposed to be representing.>
<It seems that way.>
<I can't say it exactly, something about him just gives me the creeps.>
<Yes. I know what you mean.>
Jackie wondered if her dad would come talk to her now that the woman had alerted him to her being there watching.
