Marco gave a nod of his wolf head, turning away from Leroy. He picked up the Dracon beam that had been dropped in his mouth, offering it to Amy, <Keep a close watch on him while I demorph, okay?>

Amy took the dracon beam that was offered to her and said softly, "Okay." Careful to keep her cut hand out of Marco's sight, in fear that he would worry over it, she held the beam at Leroy with her uncut hand, and covered it with her cut hand. Leroy just sat there trying to get the pain to go away.

Marco was getting tired, as was bound to happen morphing three times in rather quick succession. He demorphed rather slower than he had been going. He could hear the other controllers in the distance coming toward them. He'd forgotten about the others...damn.
When he was human once more, he looked over his shoulder in the direction of the dimmer sounds. They were still coming towards them, but he couldn't hear as well without his wolf ears, "Man, this isn't good...I'm exhausted, and there's still others coming..."
He drew a deep breath, looking at his wife, "I can probably manage one more morph....think you can ride a horse bareback?"

Amy looked at Marco as he demorphed. When mentioning riding a horse bareback, she said, "I could try. It's been a while since I rode. But don't you need rest? We could hide out somewhere while you rest." Her eyes showed concern for her husband.

"Yeah," He looked at her, his weariness plain on his features. He could still hear the controllers closing in on them, "I could use a rest, but where do we hide?"
He glanced nervously over his shoulder towards the approaching controllers once more. There was little time to find a hiding spot, and less chance of successfully fleeing at this point...unless Marco morphed right then. The strategist in him told him it would be best to morph and get going. But he was so tired!

Amy looked at their options. They either sit here and get shot down, they run as fast as they can and still get caught, or they find a hiding place. She knew they would have to find a place soon. Something in the back of her mind was nagging at her, like she's been here before, but she had no time to lull that over in her head. Instead, as instinct told her to, she grabbed Marco's hand, and said, "This way." She could see he was tired and after a little bit of running she saw a cabin that also looked familiar. "I think I found a place." She heard the controllers drawing near again and heard some tree branches breaking. She only hoped that there was a place they could stay inside the cabin, and that no one was home.

(A place she's never been that looks familiar? Sounds like the Ellimist.)
Marco hurried after his wife, occasionally looking back over his shoulder. He could hear a rucus as the Yeerks cae upon their wounded comrade, demanding to know where the pair had gone.
As they approached the cabin, Marco wondered how his wife had somehow known it was there, but he shook it off, grateful for the shelter, "It'll do for a while, but it won't hold off Dracon beams for long."
He was panting softly, out of breath and tired from the rapid mrphing and the chase through the trees. A place to rest, however briefly, would do him a world of good.

(Gah, phrased wrong....>.< .... we could play with that. The original thought was that was where she lived when she was five.)) Amy opened the door, and looked around. It was pitch black. "Maybe this can be an advantage to us." She found a bed rather quickly..."Ouch. Hey, a bed! We could sneak underneath." She looked at Marco. "What do you think?"

(Oh, lol. Well, either way!)
Marco peered through the darkness. Human eyes were lame compared to some of the animals he had morphed, they couldn't cut through the darkness like those of an owl for instance. He gave a nod despite the fact that his wife couldn't really see him, "Yeah, it could be."
He halted behind her when he heard her say ouch, "You alright, honey?"
A hiding place!
"It'll work for now. But keep that Dracon Beam handy, just in case!"

Amy said, "Yeah, peachy. I didn't need that toe anyways." She slid under the bed and made room for Marco, holding the dracon beam close. "Do you think they would come looking in here?" She heard controllers coming closer and felt like she stopped breathing, since her breathing was too loud to her.

Marco crawled under the bed, huddled close to his bride. He spoke in as quiet a tone as he possibly could, "I don't know. I wouldn't put it past them though. The Yeerks are thorough...and they want me and the others more than anything."
He listened to the footsteps drawing nearer.
"In there." Someone said, Marco held his breath.
"You really think they'd be that stupid? They probably kept running."
"Or, they're counting on you not looking in there! If we don't find them, it's you who answers to the VIsser!"

Amy squinted her eyes as the lights were turned on. Crap. Now what? She watched as the guy was looking around. She held the dracon beam, but didn't dare to shoot it yet. The bed might be overlooked. Don't look at the bed....just say they aren't here...what can I do....? If there was a sound outside..... She looked to her right and saw an open window. What could she throw? She glanced at Marco, and looked behind her, instinctively. There! She used her foot, to get the small book to her hand, one hand still holding the dracon beam.
She looked at it and then whispered to Marco, "Hold onto this," in a barely audible voice as she handed him the beam and scooched herself to the back corner. She watched the guy, hoping he would turn away from them.

The Yeerk that was searching the cabin turned to investigate the small kitchen. Marco held the dracon beam, carefully trained on the guy, wondering just what Amy Lona was up to. He hadn't spotted the window, he was too worried about the controller in front of them.

Amy smirked as the guy turned towards the kitchen. Tightening her grip on the book, she aimed for the window and heard a satisfying thump as it hit something and then another as it bounced off. Bingo... She watched to see if the guy had even heard the sound. She made her way back to Marco and saw the guy turn once more...

Marco grinned as he realized what his wife was up to. It was a stupid trick, any intelligent person wouldn't fall for it. But the Yeerk controlling the guy in the cabin seemed far from intelligent.
"They're outside! The controller yelled as he darted back out of the small cabin, "This way! I heard them!
The group of controllers took off in persuit of the sound. Marco mouthed to his wife, "Genius." and tried not to laugh. They would have to stay put for a while longer, just to be safe.
