Jae assured him that he didn't need to be scared since she was the only alien there. Ernie's eye twitched when Jae started morphing. This was getting too freaky. He didn't know exactly what was going on but Jae seemed to be changing. The question was what was she changing into. And how could she do this? Ernie was transfixed on what was happening in front of him. His mouth fell a open a bit when he saw a woman in tight clothes in front of him where the alien had once been. She was human. If she could turn human, how many others were aliens in disguise? The Berensons? He looked from Jae to Cassie to Jackie. There was obviously no way to tell the difference as he studied Jae. Cassie said something about not having to worry. Jae then asked him if he was more comfortable with her like that. "Yes I am" he said below a whisper. Although to him it sounded a lot louder. Then Cassie was staring at his face and he thought she had heard him. His eyes widened a little and started shifting not wanting to make eye contact with her. She said not a lot of people knew about the Andalites. He smiled back breathing again. Something he didn't notice he had stopped doing. "Carson. Right. I was absent." he answered not having put all his thoughts together "Today. I need the work. That I missed. 'Cause I was absent today from school." Great I must sound like an idiot to them he thought giving himself a mental slap upside the head. Since he couldn't seem to make sentences he thought he would ask about this later.

Jackie could totally identify with the boy; she was a lot better around Jae now, but still couldn't totally shake the wigged feeling she got watching her morph.
<I guess most people still aren't used to other species even now.>
<No. Your species take a long time to accomodate to things, and there aren't often Andalites around in their natural forms.>
<Yeah. It definately takes some getting used to. Even for someone with an alien in her head> She chuckled at the last comment but only mentally, not out loud.

Jae smiled softly at Ernie's stuttering and walked over, reaching her hand out to help him stand up. "Here. Maybe you should get something to drink and relax before you go on." She looked over at Cassie, hoping she would agree. This wasn't her home, but she considered it to be so, even if she wasn't sure what the Berensons thought about that. She smiled kindly at Ernie.

Cassie nodded at Jae. "Yes, a drink for you would be good Ernie. What would you like?" She smiled at him. "Then you can go talk to Carson."
